PRESSURE MAT SENSOR.
A PRESSURE MAT SENSOR hidden under a rug alarms when the intruder steps on the rug. Hide the wires carefully because cutting the wires to the pressure mat disables the sensor without triggering the alarm. For this reason, a pressure pad should not be used as the only alarm sensor. QUESTIONS: For answers use these links. 1. Why use a Pressure Mat Sensor with a boat alarm?
2. How does it work? 3. Is it difficult to install? 4. View PDF File on How to Install A Pressure Mat Sensor. 5. Recommended Wiring Procedure -- Model 411. ANSWER TO QUESTION:1. Why use a Pressure Mat Sensor with a boat alarm?
The pressure mat sensor provides boat security after an
intruder has boarded your boat. Hide the pressure pad under a rug so
when the intruder steps on the pad the alarm siren will sound. Care must be taken
with the pressure mat sensor to carefully hide the wires and the pressure mat itself as no
alarm will occur if the wires to the pressure mat are cut.
The following picture shows a rug rolled back to expose the pressure mat.
ANSWER TO QUESTION:2. How does it work? The pressure mat sensor is a normally-open alarm circuit. When an
intruder steps on the pressure mat closes the alarm circuit and triggers the siren. The pressure mat
is wired to alarm zone 3. CAUTION: If wires to the pressure mat are cut the alarm will not trigger the
siren. The wires must be well hidden or placed so that they are not accessible to an intruder.
The pressure mat should never be used as the only alarm sensor. No. It is easily installed with ordinary hand tools. Refer to the installation manual for details. Link to the Pressure Mat Sensor Installation Manual
